Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level domain extension is quite popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with coworkers and fellows. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is related to the information sector as IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized worldwide.

Considering that .IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administers this extension, such a domain can be bought through a third-party registration provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can buy a .IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. The only restriction is that the person registering such a domain needs to be situated in a country, which is a member of the EU.

As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical areas of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, considering that they can be registered only by locals.
